Porter Pizza Crust - Recipe


 
     One of my husband's favorite activities has always been making pizzas from scratch.  He especially enjoys making pizza on the grill.  Here are a few pics of his creations on his Big Green Egg and recipe for his Porter Pizza Crust.  

Porter Pizza Crust

(Dough for 2 14-inch Pizzas)

1 1/2 Cup (12 Oz.) Porter, Stout, or Dark Ale
2 Teaspoons Yeast
2 Cups Whole Wheat Flour
2 Cups Bread Flour
2 Teaspoons Salt
1 Tablespoon Olive Oil

Bring beer to room temperature.  Add yeast, mix, and let sit for 5 minutes.  Add flours, salt, and olive oil.  Knead by hand 7-9 minutes until smooth and elastic.  Add more bread flour if needed.  Cover and let rise for 2 hours or till double in size.  Punch down, divide into two balls.  Roll out on a lightly floured surface to approximately 14 inches in diameter.  Pinch edges around rim.  Top with favorite toppings and sauce.  Preheat oven or grill to 450 degrees fahrenheit and bake for 10 minutes until crust is done and cheese melted.
