I volunteer for the National Ovarian Cancer Coalition's Northern Virginia Chapter to help them achieve their mission.
"The mission of the NOCC is to save lives by fighting tirelessly to prevent and cure ovarian cancer, and to improve the quality of life for survivors."

How do we Break the Silence on Ovarian Cancer?
We tell the world we are here.
Survivors paint their hands and leave their mark.
We tell the world our story.
We come decked out in Teal ready to make some noise!
The bikes to Break the Silence begin to gather.
We come together
and reunite.
We are not alone on our path.
We feel love.
We are happy.
We hear the music, the clapping, the cheering. We are moved to tears of joy because we are alive, together.
The Survivor Picture
We are grateful for the love of our family and friends.
The clans gather.
The Volunteers gather.
Husbands stand strong.
The energy of zumba is irresistible! The anticipation rises. It is euphoria.
We ride the wave.
Our Announcer Breaks the Silence.
The National Anthem
We Break the Silence.
I can feel the revving of the engines throughout my whole body. Someone hears. Someone cares.
Go!
Together we tell the world we must find a cure! Anything less is unacceptable.
Triumph
We will do it together.
Our performer, Kenton Dunson, crosses the finish line above then sings!
Brianne Carter, reporter from ABC 7 and News Channel 8 hands out awards.
We support one another.
We remember.
We are their voice.
They depend on us to tell their story.
After the race we dance!
And dance some more.
Our DJ
Our Volunteers are the best!
Why do we Break the Silence on Ovarian Cancer?
So people like her can be there for people like him.
