Hot Chocolate - Recipe

     More chocolate than sugar, this hot chocolate is steamy and creamy.  On top of the cocoa powder I add dark chocolate chips, then add a bit of heavy cream after the milk.  A pinch of salt does its magic to create this ultimate enjoyment.


Hot Chocolate

(Serves 2)

2 T. Cocoa Powder
1 T. Sugar
1/3 c. Water
2 c. Whole Milk
1/4 c. Dark Chocolate Chips
2 pinches Salt
1/4 c. Heavy Cream

Whisk together cocoa powder, sugar, and water in a small sauce pan over medium heat.  Stir constantly until small bubbles begin to form around the edges of the pan.  Add the milk, chocolate chips, salt, and heavy cream.  Whisk until chocolate chips are melted and the liquid is steaming hot.  Do not boil.  Serve warm.
